Marine Test Kits - AmmoniaMarine Test Kits - Ammonia
Ammonia is really very toxic to marine fish and all traces of it should ideally be eliminated before fish are added to a marine set up. A good Marine quality Ammonia test kit is an essential for heading off problems in the aquarium before they begin to result in fish illness or death. We do not consider test kits primarily developed for fresh water use to be accurate enough for marine use.

Marine Test Kits - PHMarine Test Kits - PH
The Ph of natural seawater is usually very stable as a result marine fish have never evolved much adaptability in that regard. Thankfully it’s easy to maintain Sea Water ph values with the aid of a good ph test kit and some compound Ph buffer.
Salifert Test KitsSalifert Test Kits
These are Dutch test kits from a small but very enthusiastic and experienced marine only manufacturer. The tests are accurate and there is a wide range which covers not only the usual tests such as Ph and Nitrite but also things like Magnesium, Boron and, of course, the best Phosphate test kit on the market today. Use with confidence.
Tropic Marin Test KitsTropic Marin Test Kits
Ok, we admit it. In our opinion, if you keep marine fish you cannot do any better than these excellent German test kits. All Tropic Marin test kits succeed in combining unrivalled accuracy with very clear instructions and superb ease of use. Even the colour charts are large and clear fold out items, in sharp contrast to the back-of-the-box rubbish included with some brands we could mention...
Tetra Marine Test KitsTetra Marine Test Kits
Tetra test kits have always been popular with Tropical fish keepers and many choose to stick with this brand when upgrading to a marine setup. All the basic necessities are here, combined of course with Tetra's money saving test kit refill packs.

Good test kits are the marine keeper's early warning system.

Without good test kits, you cannot effectively monitor the water quality in a marine aquarium. Just because the water is clear and the fish appear healthy, it does not mean that everything is fine. Marine quality test kits will enable the fish keeper to spot problems in their infancy and take remedial measures to prevent subsequent livestock loss.

A good example is when the PH in a marine setup falls from 8.2 to 8.0. Whilst this is still borderline 'acceptable' to fish, if the PH continues to fall, livestock losses will be inevitable. Thankfully, with regular testing, the problem is easily spotted and put right by simply adding some compound buffer.

Many potentially disastrous marine keeping problems can be entirely prevented by regular use of accurate and easy to use aquarium test kits.

Good quality test kits are a great investment.

Maintenance of these three essential parameters can go along way to ensuring reef success.
