Powerheads & Waterpumps All aquariums benefit from increased water circulation. Above average current flow increases fish muscle tone and prevents the accumulation of debris and waste food behind rocks and ornaments. In particuar, modern reef aquariums have a very high current requirement to emulate a real reef environment. It's often better to use several smaller powerheads to provide various current sources than to provide only one or two massive powerheads turning over many thousands of litres.
Air Pumps Silvery bubbles rising through aquarium water remains a magical sight. Not everyone realises that aerating an aquarium in addition to filtration can have a positive effect on the whole aquarium. In general fish will be more active and a little more colourful, while algae growth will be reduced and PH stability enhanced.
Air Pump Accessories Air stones and air diffusers come in a fantastic range of shapes and sizes for differing aquarium applications. We even stock airstones which your bigger fish will find impossible to break. The output from your air pump may be easily distributed between several diffusers with a couple of simple valves and we also stock the all important air tubing. Changing diffusers regularly greatly increases the working life of your air pump.
