Finally, the blue and black foam pads may be rinsed or replaced depending on age and for best results, a new sachet of Advance Carb is included for "glassy" water quality.
Aquis Advance 1050 Canister Filter Pads and Media Maintain your Aquis Advance 1050 regularly to extract maximum performance. While the blue and black foam pads (403s) and (404s) may be rinsed out monthly, they should be replaced after six months of use, since their pore structure will begin to collapse and obstruct water flow. The polymer wool pad needs changing every month - it cannot be washed out. Insert a bag of Advance Carb under the polymer wool layer to give your water a final polish and to remove chemical waste.
Aquis Advance 1250 Canister Filter Pads and Media When cleaning your Aquis 1250 Advance Filter, remember to keep both the Advance-Nood and Advance-Sub to one side in a little aquarium water. The blue (403s) and black (404s) foam pads may be rinsed, again in some aquarium water, whilst the top polymer wool pad (403w) should be discarded and replaced. As ever a bag of Advance Carb will greatly enhance water quality and clarity, making a superb addition to the supplied filter media.
Aquis Advance 2250UV Canister Filter Pads Media Filters of this capacity can go for an extended period without maintenance, however you will only extract their best performance through monthly maintenance. The UV tube needs changing every six months, as do the blue and black foam pads (405s) and (406s), although can be rinsed in a little aquarium water during filter maintenance. The Advance Biological media should only be rinsed if necessary, but a small should be regularly replaced to keep the bacterial culture as fresh as possible.
Aquis Advance 2450UV Canister Filter Pads Media The largest filter in the Aqua One Advance range is typically asked to work hard by filtering large aquariums containing substantial fish populations. Accordingly, the best performance is only available from a filter which benefits from monthly maintenance. As usual, biological and foam media are best rinsed in a small amount of aquarium water. Don't worry about getting them too clean, but do replace at the recommended six month interval. The supplied polymer wool pad will be filthy and should be replaced. Whilst this is being done, do insert a substantial bag of Advance Carb or Chemizee to provide chemical purification. The results are well worth the modest outlay.
